Darling Harbour

Darling Harbour

One of those simple days that ended up meaning a lot more than expected.

Me and the kids jumped on the Metro into the city for a day around Darling Harbour. The train ride is always part of the adventure, especially when they get the front seat view. Harvey’s first proper time exploring Darling Harbour too, and the second we arrived he was instantly drawn to the playground.

Lost count of how many times the kids disappeared ahead of me while I stood there carrying the bags, slightly stressed in the middle of the chaos. Definitely not somewhere you’d want to lose a child on a busy weekend.

Darcey tackled the zipline while Harvey ran around completely fearless, climbing everything in sight. We stopped for a quick McDonald’s lunch before heading to the water play area, although it was probably a little too cold to fully commit to that idea. Before long we were back climbing, exploring and running around again.

One of my favourite parts of the day was watching Darcey help Harvey through some of the trickier climbing sections. Those little moments quietly say a lot.

After about four hours of running around, tired legs finally won and we made the trip home.

Nothing huge. Just one of those ordinary days that ends up being the stuff you remember most.
